Astrology is most interesting,
marvelous & 5000 years old historical subject in
the world. Astrology inform us, anyone is distinctive one. From our experiences
of Buddhism, mind science, psychology and new technology, Astrology can be
described as pure mathematical science, that our many of previous life's kamma energies
are
measured by considering the planets and their motions. Also these past energies
give us positive powers to born as human. Astrology define how our energy body
affect with our mind and what kind of positive powers we collected in our past
lives, which are help to our current life. Also all planets & objects
in space, influence to human body according to Physics such as Gravity. We get phlegm,
cold, tonsillitis & fever in fullmoon days while heavy sunny days we have
problems with urine system. Such way all planets link with our mind & body. In Sinhalese traditional word for Astrology is "Jyotishaya",
which is "Jyothi-" means light, so with whole word, means "science of
light". In other word, it tells we want use astrology for success our
life as
we use light for going on the dark roads. Cause we don't know our future, astrology is one of subject
which tells about our future. Astrology
used in Sri Lanka, was
found by Indian & Sri Lankan seers and monks who had mind power such as devine-eye. Also these monks
discussed with gods for find calculations of - how universe effect to us. As
said, Sri Lankan
king called "Rawana", was great person who had huge skills in astrology. So this
is science of mind power.
So Astrology can be categorized as
science of spiritualism,
psychology, applied & physic, which is tells our strengths &
weaknesses according to our past life's kamma forces. Astrology in Sri Lanka uses
- Birth Time,
Birth Date & Birth Place (Country with Town) for calculate our birth
chart from advanced math's formulae. Birth time is normally consider as first
breathing time or first crying time of new born baby. Astrology very with countries,
cultures, religions and customs. But root concepts are same in everywhere. Sri Lankan Astrology used Indian Vedic
Astrology with modifications from Lord Buddha's teachings. As Buddhists,
we believe that influences of birth chart means - our negative kamma &

or Grahayan (means : Attracting Objects), play
important role in Astrology. Each of planets have it’s own areas which
belongs to person's life & character. So combinations of planets help to
determine our inborn skills, mind, educational capabilities, sicknesses,
etc. Sri Lankan Astrology accomplish with nine main plants. There details are
given in below. However remember these facts are basic of
astrology. Other new planets (like Neptune, Pluto & Uranus) are important in
western astrology but Sri Lankan astrology they have minor effects in birth
charts. Cause their distance and motions can't make big influences to our
life. Hence we are not mention about them in here. Astrology which, was
found by yogic meditative minded monks & seers who have mind power, must be neglected these
new planets cause they are not
important so much. Rahu and Katu (in western astrology called as Capet
Dragonis & Cauda Dragonis) are two images
creating, when sun and moon rotate around the solar system, these two images make barrier
to other planet’s radiations. These Rahu & Katu get more attentions in birth

Each zodiac sign has own lucky

Sri
Lankan people use mainly two birth charts which are called as Lagna &
Nawansaka. Apart from these two charts, there have other four birth charts
which helps to more narrow readings. All six birth charts are called as six groups
or Sad Vargha. Astrologers use nine planets and their motions to
verify our future. Normally one person have own, one Lagna and one Nawansaka.
Therefore we can determine 12 kinds of basic characters of people in society according to
astrology. Lagna
is main Zodiac Sign & Nawansaka is use to determine angle of
planets in houses, determine nakath power, verify
links between planet's & nakath's powers. However important chart is Lagna.
Also it is called as our main Horoscope. In Sinhalese main horoscope is
identified as Kandaraya, refer to astrology used in Sri Lanka.
Following picture is sample Sri Lankan birth chart or horoscope.
Lagna (also in other five charts) are
again divided into 12 places as below picture.
These 12 places called as Bhava
Places or Houses. All Places also have their own area about our life
& effects to our body parts. Also all bhava places have zodiac signs
which are started from Lagna. Places are count as anti-clock wise such as
below. So planets are situated in these bhava places or houses.
Also planets can influence from their housing place to other places such as - Sun sit
in 1st place in sample horoscope but can influences to 3rd, 7th & 10th
places too. So this is called as Graha
Dushti or Planet Showings or Planetary Aspects. Normally
we need to understand it as sun sit in 3rd,7th & 10th places. Only main
seven planets have enough power for influences, so other planet's showings are no need to care
to much when birth chart readings.
Planet
Combinations or Graha Yogas, means how one particular planet
stay on birth chart with other planets & with 12 bhava places. And
what kind of planet showings they had got.
Planets
are not stay steady way in our birth chart. They transit from one sign to
another in universal chart or in sky. So astrologers considers where planet
is in really at this moment. It is like if your birth chart mars in seventh, but in
universal birth chart it is going on tenth. This is called as Planet
Transit or Graha Chara. We can known where are planets at current or particular time's in universe chart by referring Almanacs
Of Five Factors or Panchanga Litha.
